ABU DHABI, UAE - Etihad Airways has announced plans to deploy its Airbus A380 aircraft on the Abu Dhabi–Toronto route starting June 24, 2025. This move aims to accommodate increased passenger demand during the summer travel season and enhance service on this transatlantic route.
The A380, known for its spacious double-decker design, will replace the current aircraft operating between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). This change will introduce "The Residence," a three-room suite offering a private living room, bedroom, and ensuite bathroom, providing a unique in-flight experience.
Arik De, Etihad Airways' Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, stated that the introduction of the A380 on the Toronto route is a strategic decision to meet customer demand for increased capacity and to expand the airline's network. He highlighted that Toronto's popularity among Etihad's customers makes this enhancement in the Canadian market a logical step, aiming to strengthen connections to the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Indian subcontinent, as well as to attract more visitors to Abu Dhabi.
To commemorate the A380's deployment on this route, Etihad is offering a promotional sale from February 28 to March 5, 2025. Special one-way fares to Abu Dhabi start at CAD $880 for Economy, CAD $2,380 for Business Class, and CAD $8,380 for First Class. Return fares begin at CAD $1,380 for Economy, CAD $3,380 for Business Class, and CAD $10,380 for First Class. These fares apply to travel between June 24 and December 8, 2025.
The A380 aircraft features various cabin classes to cater to diverse passenger preferences. Economy Class includes a dedicated welcome area and 405 seats, with 68 offering extra legroom. Business Class provides 70 private Business Studios located on the upper deck, along with "The Lobby," a serviced lounge and bar area situated between the First and Business cabins. First Class consists of nine private First Apartments, each equipped with a leather lounge chair and an 80-inch lie-flat bed.
Etihad's Abu Dhabi Stopover program offers travelers the opportunity to extend their layovers with up to two complimentary nights at premium hotels in Abu Dhabi.
