RCMP investigate after bomb threat at steel plant near Regina

REGINA -- A bomb threat at the Evraz steel plant in north Regina early Friday morning turned out to be a hoax, but an employee questions why the night shift was not immediately alerted to evacuate.According to the Regina RCMP, a 9-1-1 call from a Regina pay phone at 5:30 a.m. indicated there was a bomb at the plant, located on Armour Road.A night-shift employee, who requested anonymity, was working in the pipe side of the operation. He left Evraz at 6:30 a.m. and didn't hear about the bomb threat until later in the day."Bomb or no bomb, danger or no danger, we all have the right to a safe work environment," he told the Leader-Post.
